The Municipality Of Tirana Raises Taxes, Businesses Will Pay Bills Up To 64% More Expensive
The bill for local taxes this year is added to the bill of businesses in the capital after the damage caused by Covid-19.
These bills have been increased due to the increase in cleaning fees after a decision of the Municipal Council of Tirana.
According to this decision, the cleaning fees for entities operating in the capital increased by 15-64 percent.
The Municipality of Tirana has argued the need to increase taxes with the justification to facilitate the coverage of costs, which are increasing every year, but also due to the increase in service for the implementation of the concession contract of the incinerator.
Thus, for the people of the capital, this fee becomes 5750 ALL per year, from 5000 ALL that was before.
For retail business categories with a turnover of up to 2 million ALL, this fee has increased to 5,750 ALL per year, from 3,500 ALL per year that was earlier, marking an increase of 64%.
For businesses with a turnover of 2 to 8 million ALL, this fee has increased by 1500 ALL, while for some business categories, the annual cleaning fee is 85 thousand and 100 ALL, from 74 thousand ALL that was in previous years, with 15 percent increase.
According to the forecasts of the Municipality of Tirana, the collection of the cleaning fee for the family category and commercial entities is expected to be 17% higher than in 2019.
The municipality of the capital expects to collect almost 2.2 billion ALL from this fee during 2020.
