"Constitutional Court" In Venice

The situation created by the Constitutional Court has drawn international backlash.

According to Italian ambassador, Alberto Cutillo, the solution to the clash between the President and the magistrate is the Venice Commission: a formula that was used in reviewing the decree to abolish the June 30th voting.

However, Cutillo underlines the importance of also constituting the Court.

“It should be operational as soon as possible and based on law and procedures. There is a debate on competencies but they must work together for a solution that is welcomed. Ask the Venice Commission for an opinion.

“I believe it is important to settle one's doubts about this Court. It can be done very quickly and it’s important for people to rest assured. This is a personal suggestion,” said Cutillo.

The Italian Ambassador's reaction came at a time when Parliament was discussing a majority resolution against the Head of State. Through this initiative, the Socialist Party demanded that "the decree appointing Marsida Xhaferllari to the Constitutional Court" become part of the Inquiry Commission.
