The President of the Republic, Ilir Meta, says thatAlbania is shrinking and aging at a deeply dramatic pace, like no other countryin Europe.
Through a Facebook post, Meta referring to the study of‘The Economist’ writes that in the year 2100, the population of Albania will beonly 860 thousand inhabitants.
For Meta, this is a great sadness, and that time is nowto restore hope and confidence that the country has Sunday for all and not justfor some.
According to him, it is time for the eagles to return totheir nest.

Albania is shrinking and aging at a deeply dramaticpace, like no other country in Europe.
In the study recently published by "TheEconomist", the pessimistic version predicts that in 2100, the populationof Albania will be only 860 thousand inhabitants.
The rate of aging is also staggering: the average agethis year is 37.2 years, but after 10 years it is projected to rise to 42.1years.
There can be no greater sadness!
A place blessed by God with extraordinary beauty andnatural wealth that not many countries in the world have, is being abandonedmore and more.
Although governments can benefit from emigration in theshort term as this will reduce unemployment rates or increase remittanceincome, in the long run the immediate and aggressive non-addressing of thisphenomenon would have catastrophic consequences especially for a country likeours.
It is time to restore hope and confidence that Albaniahas the Sun for all and not just for some.
