Violence Against Women Is Increasing

Violence against women continues to increase despite thetightening of criminal policies. A 73-year-old man, who is accused of stabbinghis wife four days ago, appeared in court in Tirana this Saturday.
Ndrue Prenga stated in court that the event happenedaccidentally, and the motive for this was a conflict over a house key.
The perpetrator stated before Judge Arben Micko, thatthe injury occurred during the fight he had with his wife, who injured herself.
The prosecution requested the measure of imprisonmentfor the 73-year-old, regardless of his age, arguing that he posed a danger, arequest that was accepted by the court.
Meanwhile, in Tirana, the police have handcuffed a33-year-old man who had been persecuting a 28-year-old woman for months, whohad even attempted suicide.
Based on the information received on the operationalroad, the police were able to arrest the citizen Clyde Vladi, 33 years old,resident in Tirana. He is charged with "Persecution", "Malicioususe of telephone calls" and "Causing suicide".
While in Durrës, a 55-year-old man was handcuffed, whoin different periods of time is accused of having committed shameful acts andsexually harassing a citizen.
