Adem Jashari, Commemoration of 18th anniversary of Kosovo hero's death

The Municipality of Tirana and the embassy of Kosovo are commemorating the 18th anniversary of the death of Adem Jashari, the hero of the Kosovo Liberation war. The Ambassador of Kosovo and the Mayor of Tirana paid homage today… at the statue of the legendary hero.Mayor Veliaj made the following statement: "I am glad that together with the Embassy of Kosovo, we continue to commemorate the death of Commander Adem Jashari. In order to progress, we should look back and see how we managed to get where we are. A free Kosovo and a free Albania are dedicated to those who fought for freedom. The battles are not over, they must continue every day, in order to achieve what many gave their lives for." -said Veliaj.The ambassador of Kosovo praised the legendary commander, and thanked Albania for the reverence that it shows him. ."We are here to respect the memory of the legendary commander Adem Jashari and his family" he said. "I want to thank all Albanian citizens wherever they are for commemorating this day". The ceremony was also attended by the vice minister of defense, and the association of the families of martyrs.The democratic chairman Lulzim Basha also commemorated the event, writing on facebook that the Jashari family showed the whole world what the price of freedom is for Albanians.
