"The Collapse Of The Theater, A Taliban Act", Meta's Strong Warning: Everything Is Recorded, No One Can Escape

Today, on the National Day of Cultural Heritage, President Ilir Meta makes a harsh post on social networks.

Recalling the demolition of the National Theater building, according to him a Taliban act, Meta says that, “the destruction of many unique archaeological values in Durres and the damage of some monuments across the country are the freshest screaming evidence of arrogance, corruption and irresponsibility the powerful can bring irreparable damage to our national and cultural heritage, part of the european heritage ”.

"So today, on the National Day of Cultural Heritage, I guarantee all Albanians that everything has been recorded and no one will escape Justice!" warns Meta.

The full reaction of the president:

"The Taliban act of demolishing the National Theater, destroying many unique archaeological values in Durres and damaging some monuments across the country are the freshest screaming evidence that the arrogance, corruption and irresponsibility of a government can cause irreparable damage to our national and cultural heritage, part of the European heritage.

All these serious constitutional, legal and moral crimes, consumed especially in Tirana and Durrës where the damages have been extraordinary, will be unavoidable! Because these acts of barbarism, moreover committed by state institutions, are direct attacks to our national identity.

So today, on the National Day of Cultural Heritage, I guarantee all Albanians that everything has been recorded and no one will escape Justice!

Recalling Professor Paolo Vitti who rightly says that: "Europe is not only the euro, but also culture, solidarity, humanism and identity", recalls once again the position of "Europa Nostra" regarding the demolition of the National Theater: "Let this miserable event be the one that will mark the beginning of a real awakening of civil society in Albania led by artists and intellectuals."
