Gjata: I Express Solidarity With Beti Njuma, Rama's Government And Veliaj Put Pressure On Critical Media
Secretary of Legal Affairs in DP Çlirim Gjata, expressedhis solidarity with journalist Beti Njuma after Veliaj's messages.
In an interview with Ora News, Gjata described them asattacks by the government and the municipality when they do not like criticismfrom the media.
Gjata added that the presence of the police in thepremises of ORA television was a way of pressure on journalists.
Çlirim Gjata: I want to express my solidarity with the journalist Beti Njuma after she was insulted as a journalist and as a woman.
This is horrible in 2020 when the authorities address such words to the media owners for the journalist who are trying to maintain media freedom.
This shows the mentality of the ruler that they have, starting from the mayor to the prime minister.
Rama did not dismiss a mayor who came out sucking cocaine, because they have their power tied to these people. These people who behave in this way with the government and when criticized by the media do not accept them.
There is a limit, a red line, not to send messages to the owner and insult the personality of a journalist like Beti Njuma.
This shows that there are black spots for media freedom. Under such regimes, everyone has a turn, every journalist will have a turn.
A critical journalist was enough to show what these people can do when they are offended by journalists in what they do.
If there was anything with Mr. Ndroqi did not have to take the police because the televisions are buildings, what would be done there. The goal has been the pressure of journalists.
To deal with the owner and it was enough for two people with pencil and paper, that those properties are registered somewhere, there is no need for all those police forces with guns with spacesuits and weapons. I have also seen this scene at the Theater.
They do not have it with the business, but with the media, as you have maintained a critical attitude. When the DP comes to power after a few months, the media will hold the same position, because then democracy will fall.
Gjata said that the government will not succeed infighting the attacks on the media because the level of emancipation of thesociety has increased.
Çlirim Gjata: Even during the pandemic, the closure of ORA NEWS was requested because there were many people in the studio, while other televisions were full.
This is about the media to silence the critical voice against the oppression that the government and the municipality are doing, such as stealing 20 million euros for 1 km of roads or tenders.
When the media becomes critical, political rulers turn against it and seek to set an example for others to listen to.
But I do not think it will succeed because the level of emancipation of society has increased. Rama and Veliaj will emerge as lonely Don Quixote very soon.
