Rama Promises Salary Increases For Teachers As Well: Not Opening Schools, Consequences For Children

The head of government said that the scenario of not openingschools in September was ruled out by experts in the field as it would bringserious psychological consequences, especially for children.
Prime Minister Rama has promised salary increases for teachers,who this school year will be in unusual working conditions due to the lawsuit.
In a meeting with teachers, the head of Government notedthat the merit system will be established, where the most distinguished alsoreceive financial bonuses.
Rama: We will do our best to increase support, even though the conditions are no longer optimal to think about it. We, the doctors and the teachers, think that we have to make a great effort. For the doctors, first of all, because of the extraordinary situation in which they are and for the extraordinary work they are doing. But it is not discussed that in parallel with them, even for teachers. So very soon, we will conclude about this.
Rama ruled out the scenario of keeping schools closeddespite the risk of spreading the virus, while saying that the decision toreopen educational institutions was taken by experts in the field, as theopposite would have psychological consequences for children.
Rama: Appreciating from all aspects this decision and seeing what others have done, of course the option of further closing schools was the worst option and would definitely cause another cost, especially psychological for children and with the consequences that we are not able to calculate them to the end, but that all countries have taken them into account and assessed them as unacceptable in relation to the risk that the opening of schools has in itself.
September 14 marks the start of the school yearaccording to a protocol approved by the Ministry of Education.
All students, teachers and staff will be wearing masksin the auditorium, while teaching is expected to take place in up to threeshifts according to the number of students in the classrooms and the spacesavailable to the schools.
