President Ilir Meta wished September 3, as the great daythat lived the independence of Albania.
Through a Facebook post, Meta writes that today, 100years ago, the Albanian people united in the National War of Vlora put adeserved end to the projects for the dissolution of Albania, throwing theinvaders into the sea and leaving the country.
Therefore, according to him, September 3 should bedeclared a national holiday.

Today, 100 years ago, the Albanian people united in the National War of Vlora gave the deserved end to the projects for the dissolution of Albania, throwing the invaders into the sea and leaving the country, after months of heroic fighting.
"It was not only the honor and salvation of Vlora but it was the honor and salvation of all Albania."
Gratitude to all the freedom fighters, captains who commanded, doctors who healed the wounds, those who drafted the ultimatum and those who implemented it with their blood, in defense of the victories of Ismail Qemali and Isa Boletini and who proved that the Lord of this land are only Albanians.
Tribute to the heroic work, the sublime sacrifices and the inspiring memory of the patriots, who wrote the glorious epic of the Vlora War!
Therefore, every September 3 and every November 28, every Albanian is everywhere, even the people of Vlora feel it, because here in Vlora history was made, here the Red and Black Flag was raised, here freedom was signed, here Independence was lived and this happened with the blood of the good sons of this land.
September 3 should be declared a NATIONAL HOLIDAY!
