World Water Day, Meta: Albanians To Show Solidarity With The Cause Of Declaring Vjosa A National Park
The President of the Republic Ilir Meta on the occasion of World Water Day has called on Albanians to show solidarity with the cause of declaring the Vjosa National Park.
In a Facebook post, Meta writes that it is our responsibility to protect the Vjosa, as a valuable national and European natural heritage.
Vjosa has a pan-European importance, Meta brings to attention the resolution of the European Parliament for its proclamation National Park.
"On the occasion of World Water Day, I encourage all Albanians to show solidarity with the cause of declaring Vjosa a National Park, along the entire length of the river.
It is our responsibility to protect this precious national and European natural heritage from any destructive and abusive projects.
Deeply grateful for the extraordinary contribution of local and foreign environmental activists, scientists and academics, who have given strength to the voice of the community by appearing in Tirana, but also in the most important capitals of Europe, in Brussels, Berlin and Paris, the call that roars from the river: VJOSA NATIONAL PARK NOW!
Vjosa has a pan-European importance. Therefore, recalling the resolution of the European Parliament for its proclamation as a National Park, I urge all high EU authorities to strongly support the cause, which belongs to us all.
