Basha Remembers March 22: Today We Unite To Liberate Albania From The Evil That Holds It Hostage
The chairman of the Democratic Party, Lulzim Basha, referring to the first free elections on March 22, 1992, says that even after 29 years, the dream of Albanians remains membership in the European Union.
The March 22, 1992 elections were seen as an important turning point in the overthrow of the dictatorship and the holding of the first free and democratic elections. In a virtual discussion, the chairman of the Democratic Party, Lulzim Basha, says that even today the goal remains EU integration.
"The great day of democracy in Albania, after a long darkness and after a journey in a dark tunnel, the light of hope marked the beginning of our journey towards European Albania. The first election victory by the Democratic Party is a significant day not only for us Democrats but for all Albanians. It was the time of the final parting with the dictatorship," said Basha.
For Basha, the journey in these years has not been easy, while bringing to attention the visa liberalization and NATO membership, the chairman of the Democratic Party emphasizes that with Rama's misgovernment, the reforms have remained in place.
"We enabled Albanians to move freely and without visas in Europe, we made Albania a member of NATO," said the leader of the Democrats.
Exactly on the 29th anniversary of the first pluralist elections, Basha has announced the publication of his first book entitled "My Mission".
