The President of the country, Ilir Meta through a report posted on Facebook has indicated that Albania tops the list of countries that have experienced the largest increase in emigration in 2020.
Therefore, Meta says that the efforts to say stop the depopulation should be multiplied.

"Depopulation is the biggest drama that is happening in the country.
Another report, this time by the Economic Commission for Europe at the United Nations, suggests that Albania tops the list of countries that have experienced the largest increase in emigration in 2020, despite the pandemic situation.
According to these conclusions, the average number of emigrants in 2020 was over 550 citizens per 100 thousand inhabitants, a significantly increasing trend compared to 2015 when the indicator was around 350 emigrants per 100 thousand inhabitants.
Therefore, the efforts of all actors should be multiplied, not only to say STOP POPULATION, but for concrete and realistic programs that create better opportunities for citizens, especially young people.
Let us do everything so that the eagles stay and return to their nest and Albania rises up, where the dreams and sacrifices of the Albanians deserve.”
