The Fight Over FRD Offices, Meta: Municipality Of Tirana Can Not Do Self-Judgment

The incident registered in the FRD offices brought out today at a press conference the Head of State, Ilir Meta, to clarify the whole clash with the municipal police.

Meta accused the mayor of Tirana and his administration of openly violating the law.

Meta: This attack contradicts all democratic principles of the rule of law. All actions of the mayor and his administration against FRD were carried out in open violation of the law.

The President once again brought to attention the dynamics of this event.

Meta: In the premises of FRD, in its corridors was pasted somewhere a letter without the name of the holder, without the seal, without the protocol number dated March 3 in order to make it look like an official act to justify the violent and arbitrary actions that will to be undertaken. The FRD was then cut off from power and municipal police officers blocked the entrance of FRD members, while the mayor and other leaders were blocked inside.

He said that FRD has not seized any public property as claimed by the act of the municipality of Tirana.

Meta said that this political force had a legal agreement with the Municipality for 5 years for the use of these facilities.

According to Meta, the Municipality of Tirana has no authority to resolve this issue on its own, but should have addressed the Administrative Court of Tirana.

Meta: Any other action taken to vacate the premises is not only illegal but constitutes a criminal offense and abuse of office.

Only after the media pressure, Meta said that the Municipality of Tirana has submitted on March 13 to FRD a letter that meets the conditions of an administrative act, which requires the release of the premises within 10 days but do not refer to this agreement.
