Delegation Arrives In Tirana/ Rama Leaves To Greece Alone: In Athens For A Working Lunch With Mitsotakis

Prime Minister Edi Rama left today at around 08:45 from Ankara to Athens where he will hold a meeting with the Greek authorities, reports Ora News journalist, Fiorela Beleshi.

The Prime Minister is expected to return to Albania within the day, while he left for Greece alone, without the delegation that accompanied him during the two-day visit to Turkey.

In a post on Twitter, Rama wrote:

"In Athens for a working lunch with Prime Minister Mitzotakis, to discuss further coordination in the joint fight against Covid19; further strengthening of the strategic relations between the two countries; regional cooperation and European integration of our region“.

In Athens, Rama will meet with Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis and Foreign Minister Nikos Dendias, while the meeting is informal, reports Ora News.

Rama's visit to Athens comes after a meeting with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, who has provoked a lot of reactions in the Greek press, which accuse Rama of "double play".

One of the topics expected to be discussed at the meetings is the issue of the Ionian Sea.

During the two-day visit to Ankara, Prime Minister Edi Rama was accompanied by Ministers Bledi Çuçi, Arben Ahmetaj, Evis Kushi, Elva Margariti and the General Director of the State Police Ardi Veliu.
