Basha Doesn’t Waste Time, Starts Lobbying In Europe For The Opening Of Negotiations
"My commitment is that within the first 6 months we will make the Intergovernmental Conference a reality."
A few days after the presentation of the integration program, the chairman of the Democratic Party, Lulzim Basha, held meetings with the Prime Ministers of Slovenia and Croatia.
Support for negotiations and economic co-operation has been at the center of discussions.
Basha: The experience and assistance of Croatia, which is also an EU member state, is very valuable to us. I am happy to share with you the commitment of Prime Minister Plenkovic to help us in this process, even with political support at the EU decision-making table as he did during the Croatian Presidency, so at the technical level to be as prepared as possible and to move as quickly as possible in this process.
One of the points of this platform was also tourism. Knowing the fact that Croatia has strong points in this sector, Basha promised close cooperation to get the best models in this field.
Basha: Croatia has a very good experience in the field of tourism, a priority of my government tomorrow, and for this we will work closely to get the best development models that will bring economic growth and employment for our citizens.
One of the points of the DP program is the revision of the country's Constitution, limiting the head of government to hold no more than two terms and a new system of control of powers.
