PM Janša Guarantees Basha: Slovenia Will Be Albania's Strong Advocate For Integration
The leader of the Democratic Party, Lulzim Basha, met today in Ljubljana with the Prime Minister of Slovenia and the head of the future Presidency of the European Union, Janez Janša.
In a Facebook post, Basha wrote that he acquainted the Slovenian Prime Minister with his plan for integration, commitment to fulfill all obligations, starting from the uncompromising fight against corruption and organized crime.
"I am pleased to share with you that I received the support of Prime Minister Janša, whose country will take over the presidency of the European Union in the next 6 months, for the launch of EU membership talks within the year. For Albania, there is and can be no alternative but integration into the European Union. And for this, the Democratic Party and I are determined to take every decision and necessary step."
Basha underlines that they agreed with Janša to coordinate their actions and decisions to accelerate the European path of Albania as the greatest interest of every Albanian, as our only destination.
"Prime Minister Janša assured me that Slovenia will be a strong advocate for Albania in the process of membership in the European Union."
Basha and the Slovenian Prime Minister also talked about strengthening economic cooperation and attracting and encouraging Slovenian investors to invest in Albania, which will help the employment and well-being of our citizens.
