The President of the Republic of Albania, Ilir Meta, has recently expressed his support for Albanian journalists.

Meta expressed respect and gratitude to journalists and television operators, adding that "It is fundamental to democracy that each of you be able to carry out your mission without being violated, detained, threatened or intimidated."
