"Time To Restart", Meta: All Together Against Any Kind Of Autocratic Tendency

On the occasion of the International Human Rights Day, the President of the Republic Ilir Meta, through a message on social networks says that this day reminds us today that the fight for their protection is an unstoppable process and that there is still much to do their full guarantee, especially in the conditions of the COVID-19 pandemic, when under the justification of preventive measures, coercive measures have been legislated, which in practice severely restrict our freedoms and rights.
The President does not spare the messages to the Albanian citizens as he states that: "Today more than ever, we must all be together, against any kind of autocratic tendency that endangers the democratic system of values and rights that every Albanian should enjoy."

Human Rights Day reminds us today that the fight for their protection is an unstoppable process and that there is still much to be done to fully guarantee them, especially in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic, when under the justification of the measures Preventive measures have also been enacted, which in practice severely restrict our freedoms and rights.
Despite the challenges that society is going through, for no reason should we allow ourselves to give up the full exercise of the fundamental rights guaranteed by the Constitution, especially the commitment to guarantee the right to life for all those in need for essential health care in these difficult times.
The Albanian people are committed in the fundamental law to guarantee fundamental human rights and freedoms, for the protection of human dignity and personality, in the spirit of tolerance and religious coexistence, as well as for the prosperity of the whole nation, for peace, well-being, culture and social solidarity.
Fundamental rights and freedoms are not just concepts written on paper. They are absolute rights that everyone, without any distinction, has the obligation to respect and protect.
Today more than ever, we must all be together, against any kind of autocratic tendency that endangers the democratic system of values and rights that every Albanian should enjoy.
