The President of the Republic, Ilir Meta awaited theAmbassador of Ukraine, Volodymyr Shkurov, on the occasion of presenting hisLetters of Credence.
Welcoming the first Ambassador of Ukraine resident in Tirana, the Head of State stressed that "this is a historic event for the relations between our two countries."
President Meta assuredAmbassador Shkurov of Albania's clear and unwavering position in defense ofUkraine's territorial integrity, sovereignty and independence.
The Head of State assessedthat the relations between the two countries are quite good, emphasizing at thesame time that there is room to develop them even more, especially in terms ofeconomic and trade cooperation.
President Meta thanked theUkrainian authorities for addressing issues related to the preservation anddevelopment of the national identity of the Albanian community in the Odessaregion.
