Dardan Krasniqi, the grandson of former Kosovo Parliament Speaker Jakup Krasniqi, told in an exclusive interview with journalist Matilda Mcini and Ora News, the moment when EULEX forces raided their family.
According to him, the manner of the raid was unjustifiable, while he said that Krasniqi has always been in the service of justice.
Dardan Krasniqi: It was, not only for us as a family, but also what we saw in the public, it was an unexpected moment for all people, who had the opportunity to know Jakup Krasniqi personally but also those who have known Jakup Krasniqi in political life for 40 years now. The manner of his arrest that day, the brutality displayed during the arrest did not honor the mission either, in this case the EULEX police. We have all been in the service of justice, with special emphasis on Jakup Krasniqi. His whole life is related to the service to justice and the welfare of the people living in this country.
Jakup Krasniqi has never given a minimal example that evades justice and these have been enough facts for us that the call to specialized chambers or court could have been in a completely different form. Not to put and make such an arrest of a profile that excels in wisdom, intellectual level and in the service of justice.
Matilda Mcini: What was the raid about? What were EULEX forces looking for?
Dardan Krasniqi: We do not know exactly the purpose of the raid that way. We do not know exactly what they were looking for as long as this will be the subject of the ongoing investigation there and over time the reasons for the raid will be made known in that way.
As far as we know we have taken some materials they found there, mainly books, papers because you know that Jakup Krasniqi is also a man of letters, deals with publications, has done some books, has done analysis, is also a historian and has manuscripts numerous with this field.
Matilda Mcini: Is communication allowed with the family?
Dardan Krasniqi: The rest of us have not had contact. Not even through telephone. Only close family, wife and children. Even them only for a few moments.
