Prohibition Of Political Activities, Mediu Sends To Constitutional Court The Decision Of Experts

The decision of the Technical Committee of Experts for the management of the coronavirus pandemic, to ban political meetings with over 10 people has been appealed to the Constitutional Court.

The lawsuit was filed today by the leader of the Republican Party, Fatmir Mediu, who said that the decision has a political background and hopes that the Constitutional Court will reject it.

He stated that the opposition must be united in its stance to guarantee free and fair elections.

Mediu: The decision to ban political activities contradicts the Constitution, creates political inequality at a time when we are in the electoral process. Political parties are denied this right and the most problematic is the lack of equality. Today we have forwarded to the Constitutional Court a request to overturn a decision that aids the manipulation that has already begun unilaterally and deliberately.
