"The Parties Must Move Urgently"/ Kim: Functional Constitutional Court Until December 31

US Ambassador to Albania Yuri Kim seems determined that the country will have a functioning Constitutional Court within this year.

Through a post on Twitter, she urges the parties to move quickly in this direction.

Yuri Kim: "Yesterday's meeting of the JAC shows the cooperation of the latter, the Presidency and the Parliament to act urgently in accordance with the opinion of the Venice Committee.

It brings Albania one step closer to a functioning Constitutional Court by 31 December.

The parties concerned must continue to move urgently."

A day ago, accompanied by EU Ambassador Luigi Soreca, Kim held a meeting with the President of JAC, Vitore Tusha, while this morning, the Presidency announced that on December 4, the lot will be drawn for appointments to the High Council of Justice.

We recall that the establishment of the Constitutional Court is one of the conditions for Albania towards the opening of negotiations with the EU.
