The Director Of The WHO Indicates The Categories That Will Be The First To Receive The Vaccine
WHO Director for Europe Hans Kluge in the joint conference with the Minister of Health Ogerta Manastirliu showed what are the first categories that will benefit the antiCovid vaccine when the latter is approved.
"The vaccine is what we call a global good, regardless of whether high- or low-income countries, or 1% of the population, have access to it. The WHO has been working on what is called an allocation framework, who will be the first. 20% of the priority population will be divided into three subgroups. 3% will receive it immediately when approved, such as medical staff, then the other percentage are over the age of 65 and the remaining percentage are those who have coronary heart disease or other diseases that are harmful and fall into the risk group." - said the head of WHO
The head of the WHO said that it was agreed that the countries of the Western Balkans would benefit from this vaccine and that the same situation would not be allowed to occur as in the first wave of masks.
"In a meeting with EU representatives, we agreed that the countries of the Western Balkans will benefit from this vaccine. This is again a test for global solidarity and I am very optimistic that the Committee has learned the lessons from the first wave as solidarity has not been at a proper level especially regarding masks but we will not allow it to have such a situation this case," he said.
