Vjosa Osmani Demands The Interruption Of The Dialogue With Serbia

At the time when the heads of state of Kosovo and political parties appeared before the Special Court on charges of war crimes and crimes against humanity, the acting president, Vjosa Osmani, demanded the interruption of the dialogue. According to her, the institutions should consult with each other and create a unified position on dialogue.

In Kosovo, the acting president, Vjosa Osmani, demanded the cessation of dialogue with Serbia following the latest developments in the country. In an interview with DW, Osmani assessed that now is not the time to continue the dialogue with Serbia, at a time when the heads of state and political parties are accused by the Special Court of war crimes.

"I think that due to current developments now is not the time to continue the dialogue immediately. And the institutions of Kosovo should take some time, sit down, consult with each other, create a much more unified attitude about dialogue, because it is necessary that anyone who negotiates on behalf of Kosovo, for the fate of Kosovo, have a much more unified position of the political spectrum than just the coalition it represents ", said Osmani.

She requested consultation between the parties regarding Kosovo's positions in the dialogue and said that she would give her contribution.

"And the government must be extremely careful not to fall into such traps, which Serbia builds by opening these topics in Brussels, ostensibly only formally, but which then turn into new compromises for the Republic of Kosovo. We who have followed the dialogue for a long time have seen how they got here. But mistakes must not be repeated. "

The AAK also demanded an end to the dialogue on the day when the indictment against former President Hashim Thaçi, Kadri Veseli, Jakup Krasniqi and Rexhep Selimi was confirmed.

Osmani also commented on the establishment of the Special Court by the Assembly of Kosovo. According to her, this was the most appropriate case, otherwise a court would have been set up by the UN, outside the jurisdiction of Kosovo institutions and laws.
