Three Scenarios For Facing Covid-19, Manastirliu Alongside The WHO Official: 1600 Beds Are Ready
In a press conference, alongside the head of the WHO for Europe, the Minister of Health Ogerta Manastirliu said that the Albanian government has taken all measures to face the Covid-19 pandemic.
Manastirliu spoke about the fulfillment of all conditions for health staff, bonuses for those who are on the front line of the fight against Covid-19 and the historic salary increase for doctors and nurses.
The Minister of Health also spoke about increasing hospital capacity.
According to her, with the introduction of regional hospitals in the scenario, the number of beds goes to 1600.
Ogerta Manastirliu: “The strategy of coping with the autumn-winter, prepared by our experts and supported by WHO experts are important guides to address all needs in response to the epidemic situation, to strengthen the capacity of our health system during this stage. Without forgetting any moment that our task is to take care of those who need health care.
We have left no one behind. We are strengthening our capacities and coping with the situations that may come during the autumn-winter.
We have increased the testing and tracing capacities by 4 times, we have increased the hospital capacities by 500 beds. While we have 3 scenarios of inclusion of regional hospitals that bring this capacity to 1600 beds and continuing with the training of medical teams"
