Thaçi Resigns, Vjosa Osmani The Second Woman To Take The Leadership Of Kosovo

After the resignation of President Hashim Thaçi, his duty as the head of the State of Kosovo is taken over by the Speaker of the Parliament, Vjosa Osmani.

Osmani will be temporarily President of the Republic of Kosovo, according to the provisions of the Constitution. It states that if the seat of the President is vacant, then the task passes to the head of Parliament, the same as in Albania.

Vjosa Osmani will be the second woman in the Republic of Kosovo to hold this post. Before her, Atifete Jahjaga was also President.
