Anti-Mafia Interceptions: SPAK Will Request Construction Permits From The Municipality Of Tirana
The Special Prosecution Office SPAK, addressed a request to the Public Procurement Agency, requesting all the documentation for the tender procedures, which have benefited the persons mentioned in the interceptions of the Italian file, "Ndragheta". The request is said to have been drafted by the special prosecutor, Sotir Kllapi, who intends to find written evidence at the tender agency.
Sources of Ora News, said that a similar request will be sent to the Municipality of Tirana, the Ministry of Health and other institutions mentioned in the wiretaps, to find out if individuals like Antonio Gallo, Saverio Brutto, Tommaso Brutto, Ercole D 'Alessandr or Besnik Halili, have won tenders in the period when these talks were conducted.
Through the disclosure of documents, the prosecution seeks to prove whether the intercepted conversations are grounded or not. Do they correspond to concrete actions, in obtaining tenders in Albanian public institutions and construction permits in the Municipality of Tirana, or are they just pending plans.
Also in the framework of this investigation, SPAK has requested from the Ministry of Justice, to get acquainted with the list of licensed legal translators in order to translate this voluminous file in the premises of the Special Prosecution.
This is because the SPAK fears a possible declassification and leak to the public or stakeholders of compromising conversations.
The registration of this criminal proceeding was made on the basis of wiretaps published by Ora News, in connection with the investigations carried out by the Anti-Mafia Prosecution of Catanzaro in the Republic of Italy, which cast doubt on the involvement of Albanian officials and foreigners in criminal activities in the country.
The investigation started on January 25, 2021, meanwhile in relation to this issue the head of SPAK, on February 4, 2021 traveled to Rome, where he held a working meeting with the Chief Prosecutor of Antimafia De Naro, where the parties agreed to cooperate to set up a parallel investigation in both places.
