On September 30, Shkodra Democrats Go To Elections: Who Will Represent Them As MPs
On September 30, the Democrats of the 5 municipalitiesof Shkodra region will go to the ballot boxes to elect the candidates fordeputy.
The General Secretary of the Democratic Party, GazmentBardhi has sent to the Shkodra branch instruction no. 60/3, explaining indetail the steps to be followed and the way in which voting will take place.
Thus, on Wednesday, September 30, the process will openat 10.00 and it will remain open until 18.00, where everything will beadministered by the Central Election Commission of the Democratic Party.
The voting commission will be made up of 3 members andall local branches must take measures according to the protocol provided forthe pandemic period, under anti-covid measures.
The lists of candidates subject to the consultationprocess are announced no later than 24 hours before the voting day. The list ofcandidates for confirmation depending on the number of candidates and membersof each branch will be compiled at the branch level, branch group or County.
Each candidate prior to the membership consultationprocess must sign a personal statement in which he or she assumesresponsibility for not engaging in prohibited practices that undermine fair andequitable free competition within the party in a format approved by order ofthe Secretary-General.
Violation of these rules is stated in the document alsoleads to the immediate disqualification of the candidate from the List ofPotential Candidates, who will be included in the confirmation process by themembership that is submitted to the Party Presidency after the consultationprocess.
The document also clearly states the minimum number thatthe membership must contest a name. According to the instruction for Shkodra,there are 4 number of candidates that are contested, while for a name they mustbe against 620 votes of the Democrats.
For the other 4 municipalities there is only 1 number ofthe candidate that is contested and for Vau Dejes it should get 130 votesagainst, for Malësia e Madhe 190 while for Puka and Fushë Arrëz 102 votes.
It is now expected to see the list that will arrive inShkodra, but also the names that the Shkodra membership will choose asrepresentatives of the list in the elections of April 25, despite the fact thatit will again be the DP Presidency in Tirana that will says the last word.
The Shkodra branch of DP will convene the leadership onTuesday afternoon to read this letter and implement the orders.
