Meta's post on Facebook

"The massacre that took place in Srebrenica 25 years ago was a genocide of an unprecedented scale in the heart of Europe, which should not have been allowed to happen.

July 11, 1995 marks an important and unforgettable historical moment for all of us.

As we remember today the innocent victims and all those who suffered unimaginable horrors in the Srebrenica genocide, we must reflect and carefully consider our actions, to send a clear message to future generations, not to forgotten and to never again allow such atrocities to occur in our region.

It is vital that ethnic-religious and cultural coexistence be preserved and strengthened, without allowing anyone to poison and divide our peoples and nations, even by recycling ideas that bring to mind mass displacement, so that the tragedies experienced to belong only to the bitter but not too distant past of the region.

By joining today in praying for the souls of the victims and the unparalleled pain experienced by the peoples and nations of the Balkans, in honor of their memory, we must strengthen cooperation and coexistence to move forward towards a common future in the European Union."
