Incinerators, Basha With Harsh Tones: What Connects Edi Rama With Mirel And Klodian Mërtiri And Klodjan Zoto?

Democratic Party Chairman Lulzim Basha in a meeting with journalists has raised serious accusations against Prime Minister Rama regarding the incinerators in Fier, Tirana and Elbasan.

Basha emphasized that the companies that have received incinerator tenders are offshore, while adding that in Tirana the company was registered only one day before receiving the tender.

Basha: Edi Rama has given tens of millions of euros to a person who has registered three offshore companies and is the owner of three incinerators in Elbasan, Fier and Tirana. It was registered in Tirana one day before the contract started, it did not exist and it was registered without any experience in the field of waste management.

In Fier he was registered together with an experienced Italian company, as soon as he won the tender he bought the quotas from the Italian company for 200 thousand old ALL. It still has the same person with a chain of companies registered in tax havens.

It does not exist in Tirana or Fier. In Elbasan it was not taken by the municipality because it does not meet the conditions of the contract. 75 million euros of Albanian money have been paid so far for this affair without competition, without transparency.

Basha has listed a series of questions with accusatory tones towards Rama, as he seeks to know the Prime Minister's relationship with Mikel/Klodian Mërtiri or Klodjan Zoto.

Basha: What forced Edi Rama to do this? What connects Edi Rama with Mirel and Klodian Mërtiri and Klodjan Zoto? What experience do they have in the field of fertilizer management? Why were they given tens of millions of euros without any investment? Why did your friends invent shell companies with fictitious directors? Why did they change the names? Why has the contract for the incinerator in Fier or Tirana not been changed? They have extracted 75 million euros from the budget.

Basha demands that “SPAK does its job and shows that it is on the right side. To investigate and find out who is behind the incinerators and where the Albanians' money has gone"
