Albania's path to the European Union will be the focus of the 11th meeting between the union leaders and the representatives of Albania.
On March 1, Prime Minister Edi Rama, accompanied by the Albanian delegation will attend a meeting of the Stabilization and Association Council at 12:00.
In this meeting, which will be chaired by the EU High Representative, Josep Borrell, Albania will go to the site of European countries to see how much it has respected and implemented the Stabilization and Association Agreement.
But the fulfillment of the political and economic conditions of official Tirana set by Brussels as tasks to give the green light to Albania will not be left without discussion.
Around 14:00 there will be a press conference on the conclusions of this roundtable where it is expected to highlight how well our country has done its homework.
The Albanian Prime Minister will use this visit to Brussels to meet with eight or eight EC President Ursula von der Leyen, EU Enlargement Commissioner Oliver Varherly and the next EU President held by Portugal Antonio Costa.
It is learned that the opening of negotiations will be at the center of the discussion, despite the fact that Rama himself has stated that Albania will not get a date for the first intergovernmental conference without the elections in the Netherlands, one of the most skeptical countries in our country.
But this visit to Brussels comes at a time when the Albanian Prime Minister has been quite critical of the EU's attitude towards the countries of the Western Balkans for the distribution of the vaccine.
Integration and the pandemic will bring down Prime Minister Edi Rama in the face of the heads of EU institutions, but it remains to be seen whether Rama will return to Tirana with positive news.
