SP Re-Votes Electoral Code On Thursday, Balla: Venice Opinion To Be Addressed Probably After April 25

The majority on Thursday will re-vote the Electoral Code, overturning the decree of President Ilir Meta.

For the head of the SP parliamentary group, Taulant Balla, shows that the vote in the plenary session gives the parliament an opportunity to address the recommendations of the Venice Commission in December.

Balla: The election law should have entered into force, if we voted for the decree of the pro-president, then it became almost impossible for us to address even the opinion of Venice. If Ilir Meta had been here in the Albanian Parliament, he would have given us the right for the procedure we are following.

Unlike its chairman, Taulant Balla leaves out the possibility that the Venice opinion will be addressed in December.

Balla: Once Venice has made a decision and adopted an opinion, the opinions of Venice can be addressed even beyond April 25th.

The Socialists also have a warning for those who may attempt to disrupt the April 25 election process.

Balla: Whoever intends to put obstacles for their organization in time, I think that once he has received the answer, there is no need to repeat it.

The Venice Commission has refused to give an urgent opinion on the request of President Ilir Meta, but in the session of January 11-12, the international expertise for our country will be approved.
