After Lezha and Tirana, the leader of the Vetëvendosje Movement and the elected Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, stopped in Gjirokastra.
From the historic castle of this city, Kurti has thrown the idea of changing the Constitution of Kosovo, to open the way to the National Union with Albania
Kurti: We have an obstacle to the Constitution of the Republic of Kosovo but it is not an insurmountable obstacle. Article 1.3 and Article 1.1 are incompatible. But with work and commitment, with political will and with the will of the people, we must bring the law for referendum and one day change the Constitution of the Republic. Kosovo and Albania as two states of the same nation can be integrated and united.
The leader of Vetëvendosje said that on Wednesday he met with President Meta, Prime Minister Edi Rama and the leader of the Democratic Party Lulzim Basha.
Asked if the 3 Vetëvendosje candidates in Albania would form a coalition with the Democratic Party, Kurti replied that they were independent and supported by his party.
Kurti: Three independent candidates, candidates of the voters we support, Kreshnik Merxhani in Gjirokastra, Boiken Abazi in Tirana and Iljaz Shehu in Lezha. They are independent and we want them for members of the Albanian Parliament to represent the citizens and to commit to the progress of all because Albania needs development that brings employment and justice that does not allow corruption.
Albin Kurti for three days in a row has appeared alongside the candidates of Vetëvendosje in Albania, who will run in Lezha, Tirana and Gjirokastra, as independents.
