The leader of the Democratic Party, Lulzim Basha, in a comment regarding the critical report of the previous day of the IMF, says that the findings confirmed what the DP has been asking the government for a long time, more financial aid for Albanian families.
Basha: The International Monetary Fund published a critical report on the economic situation in Albania. The report confirms what we have been asking the Rama government for months: to provide more financial assistance to Albanian families.
The report states: “Albania’s COVID-19 support packages are smaller than the average of those in emerging markets and the Western Balkans.” Albania is among the countries that offer the least economic assistance to citizens!
Basha underlines that Albanian citizens deserve more and Albania deserves a government that cares about the people and not about itself.
In the report, the International Monetary Fund urges the government to be prudent in managing its finances.
“The economy could deteriorate further as a result of the coronavirus pandemic, so it is necessary to establish sufficient reserves to cope with the situation,” the report said.
The report states that the numbers of infections from Covid are increasing in our country and a more severe pandemic accompanied by a decrease in remittances and foreign investment, as well as a blow to the tourism industry, would worsen the economic outlook for Albania.
