Through a Facebook post, the leader of the Democratic Party, Lulzim Basha writes that this school year starts with difficult conditions for teachers, students and their families.

Basha says that it remains the primary task of the government to take concrete measures to avoid the spread of the virus among students and teachers.

“Already very close, the start of the new school year is a day welcomed by thousands of students, parents and teaching staff across the country. This year starts in difficult conditions for teachers, students and their families. In recent weeks, the number of people affected by COVID-19 continues to be high, while it remains the primary task of the government to take concrete measures to avoid the spread of the virus among students and teachers.”

Basha adds that every teacher on the first day of school should have the result of the COVID-19 test.

Apart from disinfecting school facilities, teaching in shifts to avoid classrooms with many students, it is urgent to conduct mass testing for all teaching staff.

Every teacher on the first day of school should have the COVID-19 test result. With frequent ongoing testing of teaching staff, a possible chain of infection could be avoided that would further aggravate the situation that Kosovo is expected to implement this plan, the Albanian government must urgently start taking measures to provide testing for teaching staff. The life and health of teachers, students and all Albanians is more important today than any political show!”
