Basha Asks The Vice President Of The EC To Help Kosovo With Visa Liberalization

Chairman of the Democratic Party Mr. Lulzim Basha, had an online conversation with the Vice President of the European Commission, at the same time Commissioner for the European way of life, Mr. Margaritis Schinas.
The conversation focused on the exchange of views on the future of Albania's European integration process, the efforts that the country should make to join the Union and the vision of the main opposition on this process.
Basha: "Thank you very much for all your support for Albania, I am very optimistic that after April 25 what we have done together in the past is completely successful. And you are right, we should not be too modest. 150 conditions, if you remember, had to be met in order to get visas removed."
Schinas: “I know very well, not only about Albania. I know how complicated it is."
Basha also did not leave without mentioning Kosovo's integration and visa liberalization. The leader of the Democrats said that the time has come not to allow Kosovo to remain the only country in the Western Balkans that does not enjoy this freedom of movement.
Basha: "Since we are talking about visa liberalization, I know that it is a complex issue that also includes the dialogue between Pristina and Belgrade. I believe that the conditions for visa liberalization have been met. I know it is not in your hands, I know it is in the hands of the commissioners, but I think it is time to not allow Kosovo to remain the only country in the Western Balkans that does not enjoy this freedom of movement.
They have taken some steps forward, they have held several model elections of European standards just a few months ago, they just elected a woman as President. Of course they need to make progress."
The Vice President expressed support for Kosovo and appreciation for the leader of the Democrats Basha.
Schinas: "We have received information about this, I know about this interest and I appreciate that you know that this is very complex. We will definitely be there to help them again. "
