Vetting continues, hearing on judge Manjola Xhaxho held

The Independent Qualification Commission held today the hearing for Tirana Court Judge, Manjola Xhaxho, for whom it was determined that there had been no violation of the law. 

At the hearing, it was made known that the High Inspectorate of the Declaration and Audit of Assets and Conflict of Interest has confirmed that the wealth declaration made by the judge is correct and that she has legitimate financial resources.

According to the verifications, the judge lives in an apartment owned by her parents, although the residence was a gift from the judge to them. 

From the verifications by the Classified Information Security Directorate, Xhaxho is considered to be appropriate for the continuation of duty. 

Regarding the professional skills, the High Council of Justice finds her capable in that she has the legal knowledge, ability to perform legal proceedings, integrity and impartiality.

There were two complaints against the judge, in 2009 and in 2013, which have been verified and no disciplinary measures were taken. 

Another complaint to the judge was also deposited in the Independent Qualification Commission, but the case was solvable with a trial and it was out of the competence of this commission. 

After taking the right to speak, Judge Xhaxho said she agreed with the findings and asked for reconfirmation of duty. The decision on Judge Manjola Xhaxho will be made on the 14 May at 09:30.
