Veliaj- Kitaroviç, Kitaroviç: Surprising changes

Tirana's Mayor Erion Veliaj hosted a meeting with Croatian President Kolinda Grabar-Kitarović.

According to the Municipality of Tirana, they discussed increasing cooperation between Tirana and Croatian cities, as well as opportunities for the exchange of positive experiences.

In her speech, President Kitarović expressed her positive impression regarding the changes occurring in Tirana.

"I spoke earlier to the Croatian media, how much I am surprised by the changes I saw in Tirana. Since my first visit here was in 1993, I have really seen how the city has changed," said Kolinda Grabar-Kitarović.

Tirana's friends are honored with the "City Key" award and Kitarović was no different.

Tirana's Mayor Erion Veliaj praised the role Croatia has played and is playing for an open-door policy with the Balkans region and as a spokesperson for our progress towards the EU.

"Croatia has kept an open door policy for the region, becoming an advocate for our progress towards the EU.

"I think that for us, Croatia and its leadership, the miracle of Croatia's transformation through the EU integration process reminds us this is not just a destination, but a journey.

"So, we are keeping notes and I am extremely inspired by this journey," said Erion Veliaj.

Later, the Croatian President and the mayor of Tirana also visited "Europa Park" in Skanderbeg Square, and as a signature symbol of friendship the two Leaders planted a tree together.
