Mayor Veliaj in Naples, meets his counterpart Magistris

During his visit to Italy, Mayor Veliaj held a meeting with the Mayor of Naples, with whom he discussed the possibilities of deepening the economic, political and social cooperation between the two cities.

"I look forward to the arrival of the Neapolitan Mayor in Tirana, to start a strong relationship with Naples after 500 years.  It is the duty of the new generation, in this year of Skanderbeg, that this special rapport with Naples be reaffirmed, and the way we can do this is through the exchange of artifacts, pieces of culture, Skanderbeg's letters or an inheritance of 500 years ago.

And of course, laying the foundations for other jobs such as tourism, agriculture and information technology,"-declared Erion Veliaj.

In his speech before Italian entrepreneurs, Veliaj presented the changes that Tirana has undergone during these three years, as well as the implemented policies for attracting foreign investment.

"Italy's Constructors and Developers Convention was a fantastic way to promote the incentives created by the Albanian government for foreign investors. Compared to Italian taxes, which are over 50%, Prime Minister Edi Rama's government has limited taxation to 15%. This means that for many Italian investors who are tired of bureaucratic taxes, Albania is an ideal place to invest.

Our country is competitive both in the labor force and in the way the government has offered an ideal tax package. Today we are in a situation where, for strategic investors who invest several million Euros, the government offers a significant tax cut. This has been done as a way to introduce the city, as a government initiative for those who want to invest in Tirana,"-added Erion Veliaj.

The Head of the Municipality of Tirana underlined that many of the hotel operators and investors specializing in quality construction, especially in the coastal areas or in Tirana, see Albania as an ideal place.
