The opposition objected the budget on the argument that no increases in wages, or concrete investments, are anticipated.

However, the Commission approved the draft budget and the fiscal packages without the need for any amendments.

According to the Vice-Chairwoman of the Commission, Jorida Tabaku, the draft budget for the coming year does not foresee wage increases or investments. There are concerns that it does not foresee the required funds for Vetting either.

"We oppose this budget draft as there is no salary increase and no investment foresight" said Jorida Tabaku.

The draft budget and fiscal package for 2018 was approved in the Economy Committee without any change while it is expected to go for approval in parliament for a vote at the next session.
