Christmas day, many celebrate at St. Paul's Cathedral

Christian believers celebrated the most important moment of their religious calendar, Christmas Day with a ceremony held at St. Paul's Cathedral in the capital.

Believers stayed for hours in anticipation for the Blood of Christ Ritual, which was held by Archbishop Geroge Frendo. As he held the wafer high, Archbishop Frendo underlined the morals of family and respect.

"We express our gratitude through the unceasing efforts for the development of the spiritual life.

"In the face of Jesus we see the face of every human being. Jesus has commanded us to love and respect one another as the only way to find peace.

"Jesus cared for the sick and for every man in need. He requires us to imitate his example. To take care of people who do not have food or shelter." said Archbishop Frendo.

In the Orthodox Church, the Blood of Christ Ritual was held by Archbishop Janullatos, who just yesterday received the honour of Albanian citizenship.

Christmas is a great celebration at a harmonious table, bringing together citizens of different faiths, forwarding Christmas wishes.

Many Albanian families, as well as the City Hall across many of the public spaces,  choose to display a major symbol of Christmas, the Christmas tree, which is a sign of the exchange of gifts in a united family.
