Changes To Justice Reform

3 years ago the Socialist Party was seeking the vote of approval from the Democratic Party and the Socialist Movement for Integration in order to pass justice reform, whereas currently, to correct it, the majority are not attempting to secure votes from the New Opposition.

After being returned by the Constitutional Court, the Parliament was obliged to amend 22 articles of the laws on the status of judges and prosecutors as well as for the organs which govern the justice system.

With these changes, the High Council of the Prosecution and the High Judicial Court will be able to take disciplinary measures for judges and prosecutors, as well as prioritize the appointments of magistrates who seek transfers.

This action of the Law Commission completes the reform of justice, but again the majority is open to revising special reform laws, in case of need, with international support.

“We remain open to further cooperation regarding changes or enforcement of justice laws that are dictated by the need for the practical implementation of law enforcement,” said Ulsi Manja.

During Thursday's plenary session, the majority will again table two bills of the law reform, seeking the approval of the New Opposition to being them to the required 84 votes.
