Today, the 577th anniversary of the Lezha Covenant was commemorated by representatives of politics in Kosovo, Northern Macedonia, Montenegro and the Presevo Valley, who were in Lezha today.
The leader of the Vetëvendosje Movement, Albin Kurti, with representatives from politics in Kosovo, Northern Macedonia, Montenegro and the Presevo Valley were in Lezha today to commemorate this important event.
But Is it time for a second covenant?
Albin Kurti: “Undoubtedly, Albania and Kosovo as states as institutions and politics must be coordinated towards rapprochement, integration and union and above all in three main areas: energy and natural resources and foreign policy of the Albanian nation. The Constitution of Kosovo is in contradiction with Article 1.1 and Article 1.3.
The latter prevents us from joining another independent state like Albania but also presents an obstacle to the integration of another type like the European one. In Kosovo, when we do not have a law on referendum and we cannot change the Constitution, it shows that we need to do more work and it takes time to reach that point, but it was undoubtedly the historical intensity and the desire of the Albanians.”
