The leader of the Vetëvendosje Movement, Albin Kurti, has called for unity between Albania and Kosovo on major issues, especially when facing Serbia.
The former Prime Minister has criticized the chief executive in Tirana, Edi Rama, because according to him, the latter does not take the necessary attitudes towards the Serbian President, Aleksandar Vucic, and that he does not even tell the truth about the latter.
Relations between Albin Kurti and Prime Minister Rama continue to remain at a low point, while the leader of VV has stated in a recent statement that the chief executive in Albania does not maintain the right attitude towards the President of Serbia.
“For a long time now, we have not had the same stance with the Prime Minister of the Republic of Albania, Mr. Edi Rama, regarding the President of Serbia, this is an important point that we strongly distinguish. Unfortunately, the Prime Minister of Albania does not dare to tell the truth about the President of Serbia, for what motives and reasons, I am not able to say. We must unite for the liberation war, for the Kosovo Liberation Army, but also against Serbia, which is against us. We will not be able to unite as a nation, we will not be able to cooperate as states with different attitudes towards Serbia. Kosovo and Albania do not have not only the luxury but also the right to distinguish as far as Belgrade is concerned”, declared Kurti.
Kurti even says that Rama does not tell the truth to be told about Vucic and that he can not find a reason for this.
“Our disagreements come from this difference, the essential difference is the different attitudes that I and the Prime Minister of Albania have, for the President of Serbia. He is trying to localize the crimes of Serbia in the figure of Milosevic, this is unfair to Kosovo and the Albanian nation. Therefore, I call on the Prime Minister of Albania but also the Assembly of Albania that, as approved by the Assembly of the Republic of Kosovo, the resolution of the genocide of Serbia in Kosovo, to be made by the Assembly of the Republic of Albania “, said Kurti.
The former Prime Minister of Kosovo further added that Albania and Kosovo find it necessary to maintain the same positions in relation to third parties.
In closing, Kurti called on the Albanian Parliament, like Kosovo, to vote on a resolution calling the Serbian army’s crimes against Kosovo Albanians during the war a genocide.
