The Commissioner for Enlargement and Good Neighborliness in the European Union, Oliver Varhelyi, has started his official visit to Albania with a speech in front of the deputies in the plenary hall.
During his speech, the senior EU official said that,
“Through you I want to convey a clear message: we will stand by you, we will work with you to become a member state.
The Western Balkans has been a priority for this commission. We have been committed to showing results regarding the Western Balkans. The future of the whole region is in the EU.
We are here to cooperate with you in order to have as much economic growth and jobs as possible “, said Varhelyi.
According to him, the EU will provide 9 billion euros in investments to the Western Balkans in the form of grants.
