You’d be hard pressed not to notice the snow falling across the capital now, as a white blanket can be seen out of windows across Tirana thanks to this afternoon’s snow precipitation.

Lesser known is that a light frost swept the city this morning thanks to the appearance of snow overnight, albeit much lighter than we have seen this afternoon.

Snowfall affected the entire district of the capital, though there were no reports of problems with traffic as the frost did not remain on the road.

Meanwhile, the snow has whitened the entire district of Lezha and continued all night.

The snow reached a thickness of 10 centimeters in Lezha's lowlands and up to 50 centimeters in the Mirdita area.

As a result of snowfall, schools in Lezha, Kukes, Diber and Elbasan have suspended classes, while snow-cleaning vehicles are being utilized to clear main roads.

Blocked roads have stopped the work for about 2,000 Martanesh and Bulqiza miners, too.

There were prolems with drinking water in some areas of Dibra because of the frost, while in the cities of Peshkopi and Bulqiza the snowfall measured over 30 cm.

In the Shkodra region, Theth is isolated because snow the snow now reaches two meters there.

In Elbasan, there are no problems with movement of vehicles, despite snowfall overnight.

Snowfall is present in the deep mountainous areas in Librazhd, but the circulation of vehicles continues without problems. Meanwhile, snow has blocked 7 villages of the Kruja Highland, where schools are also closed.
