Protest or boycott? Vice-chair of DP gives a statement

The Democratic Party has still not made a decision about how the opposition will act once the new parliamentary sessions begin to take place, leaving the decision in the hands of the leading forums.

The Vice Chairman of this political force, Edi Paloka said the parliament has lost legitimacy and the relations with it can not be normal, so the boycott and burning of mandates remain as options.

"The Parliament is illegitimate, so there can be no normal relations" said Edi Paloka.

According to Paloka, despite the efforts by the Socialist Party to bill the opposition as the ones blocking the justice reform, he argued that it is the Prime Minister himself who is destroying the reform.

"Rama has destroyed every reform. We protest for justice" said Edi Paloka.

Statements have been made by both US Ambassador Lu and EU Ambassador Vlahutin, who both condemned the violence used in the protest.

Edi Paloka did not comment on the stances by the Ambassadors, but he did issue a guarantee that the Democratic Party has strong relations with the international diplomats.

He went on to warn of more action until concrete results are achieved.

Paloka commented on the criminal proceedings undertaken by the state police in relation to offences committed by persons participating in the protest several days ago.

"The drug officers took an opportunity to criminally prosecute the opposition" said Edi Paloka.

The Vice Chair of the Democratic Party said that citizens must take their fate into their hands, because according to him, Edi Rama will not stop violating laws or the Constitution.
