Police, 55 Year-Old Retirement Pension

Effectives who have 25 years of service in the State Police will soon be able to benefit early retirement fund at the age of 55.

According to a draft law, the pre-retirement fund rate will be as much as 65% of the net average wage and the goal is to reduce the average age of employees from 45.6 years to 44.1 years of age.

The changes predict that, for each year over 25 years of work, the average wage increase is 1%, with a condition being the limit of 75% of the net salary.

For the head of Police Union, Sadetin Fishta, this draft law has been long awaited by the Police officers. It has been suggested that once the draft has been approved, about 30% of the force will apply for the early retirement pension.

On the other hand, according to the Head of the Police Union, the draft law still needs significant improvement because other acts that may be valid should be added.

The Head of the Police Union has commented for RTV Ora on the Vetting of the Police ranks, explaining that the process should be transparent, especially for senior police directors.

About 13,000 police officers are expected to pass through the filters of Vetting, a process that will be carried out at the Palace of Congress and is part of a broader overhaul of the country's judicial system.
