Food controls, several vans that supply markets in Vlora have been disallowed

Three vans trading milk and meat products at temperatures above the allowable limits have been caught in Vlora.

Two of them contained milk products which were stored at temperatures respectively 18.4 and 15.6 degrees, while the maximum allowed by law is up to 6 degrees Celsius.

They were each fined to the value of 100,000 lekë.

Meanwhile another subject was caught in flagrance by the National Food Authority in Vlora by transporting meat and its by-products at a temperature of 25.6 degrees, despite legislation declaring the maximum allowable is 6 degrees Celsius.

This subject was also imposed an administrative fine, this time to the value of 200,000 lekë.

The National Food Authority announces that these checks will continue to be intense to prevent anyone from affecting the safety and quality of the products in our country.

As we are in the middle of the tourist season, the National Food Authority has paid special attention to the vans that supply bars and markets with food along the coast.

Among other things, the National Food Authority calls on business operators to be cautious about buying raw materials, be they animal or non-animal products.

In addition they stressed the importance of seeking and receiving only labeled products accompanied by complete veterinary and fiscal documentation, not only because it is a legal obligation, but also because it is a very important measure for the safety of consumers.
