The European Commission Is Discussing Today The Political Situation In Albania

Today, June 22, the European Council will discuss the current situation in our country, and the collapse of the National Theater.

This was confirmed by the Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee on Foreign Relations in the European Parliament, David McAllister, in response to the request made by the "Diaspora for a Free Albania".

The response states that on the agenda of the commission under point 10 is the exchange of ideas about the current situation in Albania, as well as McAllister's concern about the fact and the manner in which the demolition of the National Theater was carried out.

He underlined that the collapse was the destruction of a European cultural heritage, further worsening the prospects for dialogue and compromise with official Tirana.

The meeting of the parliamentary commission can also be followed online.

The European Parliament has asked Albania to meet the 15 conditions before the First Intergovernmental Conference.

Parliament announced on June 19 the results of the vote where the EPP resolution received more votes than was approved in principle.

Of the 665 votes in total, the resolution passed with 532 votes in favor, 70 against and 63 abstentions.
